Margaret Mueller is a jeweller and textile artist who works across multiple mediums but concentrates on metal work and enamelling. Drawing on her extensive training in textiles she also dyes silk scarves.
Margaret creates unique jewellery using silversmithing, cold connections, various techniques to colour metals and vitreous enamelling. She draws inspiration from nature and architecture as well as various art movements such as Art Deco, Bauhaus and Art Nouveau.
Margaret has a Bachelor of Fine Art, Monash University (2002), a Diploma of Art and Design, Studio Stitch, Box Hill Institute (1999) and an Associate Diploma in Fashion Design R.M.I.T (1961).
She has exhibited extensively and has won awards in tapestry and beadwork. Her work is shown in collections in Australia and overseas. She also teaches from her home studio.
For the last ten years Margaret has spent extended time in Ethiopia working with various NGOs mentoring staff in various skills. All proceeds from her sales go towards this work.
She is a life member of the Bead Society and the Wangaratta Ski Club
