Jill enjoys felting, stitching, rug hooking and knitting, using wool and recycled fabrics.
She likes to create knitted and crocheted garments and accessories, felted wall-hangings, vessels and decorations, rug hooked brooches and pin cushions from recycled fabrics.
Jill is inspired by the original recyclers, including early patchworkers, rug-hookers and stitchers. She is energised by bright colours and enjoys making contemporary versions of these early works.
After a lifetime of attending a variety of short creative courses, Jill completed a Diploma of textile stitch at Box Hill Institute in 2010. She is a member of the Victorian Feltmakers and has exhibited twice a year with the Alcove Art shop at Box Hill Community Arts Centre for many years. She also exhibited at the Petites exhibition, part of the Wangaratta Stitched up festival several years ago.
