Gwen is a printmaker specialising in reduction linocut prints. She creates colour and black and white linocut prints, producing original limited-edition prints, numbered and signed.
Gwen uses the traditional reductive printmaking technique where you reduce the linoleum block by carving and printing multiple colours. There is no opportunity to go back, modify or correct your prints, or add additional prints to the edition.
Gwen’s iconography stems from her interests in classical mythology, the human form, animals, surrealism, flora, small every-day things that she treasures and her whippet dog Fergus.
Gwen has a degree in Fine Art (Majoring in Painting and Drawing), and a Graduate Diploma in Teaching and Learning. She has taught painting and drawing and conducted numerous printmaking workshops across Victoria.
Gwen has won awards and received many accolades for her prints. Her work is represented in over seventeen Australian public collections and she has exhibits regularly in Victoria, Australia and overseas. Gwen is a member of the Print Council of Australia and the Peninsula Studio Trail Inc.
