Gail works with handmade paper and print. She makes all her own paper which she then uses in books, cards and art pieces.
The natural world has a strong influence on the imagery and materials used in Gail’s artist books and artworks.
Gail has been making paper since 1984 and books since 1990. She has explored most aspects of hand-papermaking and specialises in making artist books.
She has exhibited regularly and is represented in several public and private collections. She has had a web presence since 1997 and her current websites are www.gailstiffe.info and www.papergail.blogspot.com.
She has held executive positions in Women’s Art Register, IAPMA (International Association of Papermakers and Artists) and is current President of Papermakers of Victoria.
Gail enjoys sharing her knowledge and has extensive teaching experience having taught many workshops, both short and long. Her work has appeared in several publications including Textile Fibre Forum, Lark Books, 500 Handmade Books and 500 Paper Objects, amongst others.
